Job Description PdL TNIC LEAD COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST The desired candidate shall serve as a subject matter expert for PdL TNIC (Product Lead Tactical Network Initialization Configuration) supporting communication systems to include but not limited to Joint Network Node (JNN), Satellite Transportable Terminal (STT), Regional Hub Node (RHN), Soldier Network Extension (SNE), Tactical Radio (TR) and Tactical Communications Node (TCN) in the engineering analysis of critical Army tactical telecommunications infrastructure.
The PdL TNIC provides support to multiple Programs of Record (POR), to ensure that integration and initialization strategies properly support the POR's requirements to include implementation, operations, maintenance, and defends a global transport infrastructure supporting military operations, Combatant Commands, Services, and Agencies.
PdL TNIC provides technical expertise across the systems engineering life cycle from requirements analysis to test and evaluation and operations issue resolution including working with emerging communications system developers to determine innovative approaches to improve performance, robustness, and effectiveness, especially under contested environments and chaotic environments.
The candidate will work on a wide range of engineering, testing, and acquisition challenges and will be involved in supporting the development, acquisition, and testing of communications technology to support the Army's wide-area tactical communications networks which currently use a combination of terrestrial line-of-sight (LOS) and Beyond LOS (BLOS) radio communications, wideband Satellite Communications (SATCOM), and IP networking.
It is REQUIRED to possess the following:
1.
BS degree in a Communications Engineering/Computer Science or Information Technology related discipline.
2.
Five (5) years of recent experience in performing technical design, analysis or research into terrestrial communications systems.
3.
Experience is required in two (2) or more of the following areas:
Transport architecture analysis and evolution strategy including but not limited to; optical fiber, terrestrial wireless, routing and switching technologies, Internet Protocol/Multiprotocol Label Switching (IP/MPLS), Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP), Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Next Hop Resolution Protocol (NHRP), leased circuit aggregation/optimization and capacity management and expansion planning Experience with Firewalls, Virtual Private Network (VPN), Intrusion Detection System (IDS), High Assurance Internet Protocol Encryptor (HAIPE) and other network security technologies Infrastructure performance modeling, simulation, monitoring, and analysis Network component/device test, evaluation, market analysis, and business case preparation Network timing and synchronization distribution, performance, reliability and availability analysis Current knowledge of wireless and SATCOM networks; within 3-5 years 4.
Secret Security Clearance DESIRED
Experience:
1.
MS Degree in Information Technology or Communications Engineering.
2.
5-10 years of experience in technical analysis of communications systems design.
3.
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Routing & Switching.
4.
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Enterprise.
5.
Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP).
6.
Experience in three (3) or more areas identified above (1-5).
The position is located at Aberdeen Proving Grounds (APG), Maryland.
