Job Description:
Parsons is seeking a Senior Signal Processing subject matter expert (SME) to participate in on-going radar research and development (R&D) efforts at one of the Armys R&D Centers of Excellence, C5ISR Center, I2WD, at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), Maryland.
You will have the opportunity to use your experience and knowledge to develop hardware and software to improve the signal processing of current and next generation RF systems including radar, EW and ISR sensors.
to influence the next generation of RF systems including radar, EW and ISR sensors, signal & data processing technologies, algorithms, and electronic protection techniques.
The SME must be a Senior Engineer with significant relevant experience in digital signal processing, RF/radar/EW systems and technologies; signal processing techniques; and systems test and evaluation.
The DSP SME will design and develop Radar, EW and EO/IR models and algorithms, conduct system trades/sensitivity analyses and conduct performance assessments to support technological decisions and their impact on system performance.
The SME shall provide technical expertise, mentoring and advice to government and contractor engineers in the following:
1) signal processing techniques; 2) algorithm development 3) concept evaluation; 4) technology evaluation; 5) laboratory and field testing; 6) training and mentoring of junior engineers; 7) perform trade studies.
Qualifications:
BS (MS preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or similar field 10
years experience in RF, radar, EW, and optical signal processing Experience in radar and/or EO/IR sensor signal processing algorithm and model development and analysis Programming in a compiled language such as C+
(preferred), C, Java, or Python Experience using tools such as MATLAB or Python for analysis of data sets Experience using UNIX/Linux based workstations Experience with running and modifying simulations and performing analysis Experience developing and presenting technical briefings Experience in reviewing engineering design documentation (as part of the configuration control and design process) and interface control documents Experience in the preparation of technical reports, technical briefings, technical drawings, performance work statements, system developmental schedules, performance specifications, and requirements documentation, and in presenting results to senior management This position requires the selected candidate to hold an active Department of Defense Secret level security clearance, which requires US citizenship while working in support of a government contractMust be eligible to obtain and maintain, or currently possess Secret clearance.
