We are seeking a Network Systems Administrator to support a DoD contract in Aberdeen, MD.
Description: The Network Administrator primary responsibility will include hands on technical support work related to the overall health and maintenance of the network environments in support of 24/7 operations. This position will perform tier-2 escalation support and must possess experience in the operations and support of large-scale WAN systems.The individual will lead/assist in the tests and evaluations of performance of network components by laboratory and field tests to insure the adequacy of the components for use in solving existing problems. Additionally, this individual is responsible for supporting network design and configuration tasks.
Duties:
Configure and administer network switches, routers, access control devices, and wireless and monitoring platforms:
Manage, maintain, upgrade and configure current and future hardware platforms to support the SDREN WAN and DREN ancillary equipment. Current hardware platforms deployed are Juniper routers, Netscreen and Juniper SRX Firewalls, Juniper SSL VPNs, TACLANE NSA Type 1 encryptor as well as Brocade switches in an enterprise setting.
Configure and maintain Solarwinds Orion network management tools, and JIRA ticketing system software or other network management tools deployed or as directed
Manage and maintain Domain Name Service on SDREN
Manage and maintain Email Service for SDREN customers
Manage and maintain SDREN CORE IPv4 and IPv6 addressing plans and allocations
Implement SSL/VPN and network monitoring support requirements
Perform in-depth network services monitoring and troubleshooting using (commercial network and performance tools)
Evaluate and deploy new services and functions as needed
Serve as lead on network projects and participate in network infrastructure design
Support disaster recovery router and switch IOS management
Coordinate vendor operations

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or other technical discipline required or equivalent experience.
Working knowledge of a wide range of datacenter technologies including: Local (LAN) and wide-area networks (WAN); NAS and/or SAN storage technologies. Oracle technologies, Linux, Microsoft Server, firewalls, and VPNs Network protocols such as TCP/IP, WINS, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, FTP, HTTP, SMTP, etc.
Proven ability to multi-task and operate in a dynamic enterprise environment.
Must be proficient in all aspects of IPv4 and IPv6 routing, multicast, jumbo frame configuration on all network and firewall platforms

years of related (data center environment) experience
A minimum of 5 years' experience supporting a 24/7 mission critical IT infrastructure
Must possess a Secret clearance with the ability to get a Top Secret or TS/SCI or higher clearance. Must be a US Citizen
Familiar with DoD 8500.1 IA requirements
Must be able to produce proper network diagrams using PowerPoint, Visio, or similar applications

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
