Job Description: Raytheon will be establishing a regional office in the Aberdeen, MD area to facilitate a team of subject matter experts, and other support personnel, who will support high performance

software application development and analytical research for the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD). This regional office is to be fully staffed by September 2013. Raytheon Company is accepting applications from prospective candidates, in various technical and non-technical capacities, entry-level to seasoned professionals, to fill several very important roles of responsibility. The following job description describes the criteria for the role of Mid-Level Systems Engineer. The Mid-Level Systems Engineer performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses of all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures logical and systematic conversion of customer requirements into total systems solutions recognizing technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. Provide proposal support including writing inputs for submittal. Required Skills: Six or more years as a Systems Engineer. Specialized knowledge in large computational systems and ability to analyze interactions between processing storage and networking of high performance computer clusters. Good communicator capable of working in a multi-disciplinary team of technologists as well as on an independent and self-directed basis. Desired Skills: Experience with numerous types of Linux on high-end platforms. Experience with large data archives, tiered file systems, and Storage Lifecycle Management techniques. Experience designing architectural solutions to complex high performance computer problems. Required Education (including Major): Bachelor of Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Management of
