Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Project Manager Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC) to join our team! In this role you will get to lead efforts in support of planning and implementation of CBTC systems.
Candidates must be local or willing to relocate to the DC/MD/VA area.
What You'll Be Doing:
Parsons is a recognized leader in the field of communications-based train control (CBTC).
Our team of industry experts have been satisfying clients including CBTC suppliers and owners of major transit systems around the world.
We've developed long-term relationships with our clients as we help them achieve their strategic visions.
Our client plans to replace their existing automatic train control (ATC) system with CBTC technology.
The program may also include the systemwide implementation of platform screen doors.
Parsons is seeking a Project Manager with extensive CBTC systems implementation experience.
This candidate will lead a team of experts supporting the planning and implementation of CBTC systems in a brownfield environment, so if you are very familiar with the CBTC systems architecture as defined in IEEE 1474 - this is a great opportunity for you to be involved in a career making, billion-dollar program! We need an experienced leader, one that inspires loyalty and commitment, to lead a Program Management and Engineering team on this large-scale rail transit project.
We expect you to have strategic vision--as well as an eye for the small details--and be able to lead programmatic and technical meetings with the client, suppliers and the consultant team regarding all aspects of CBTC funding, procurement, design and implementation.
Technical ResponsibilitiesDevelop documentation on program benefits to help build stakeholder support and secure program fundingSupport the client's plans to coordinate the CBTC program with a new railcar procurement programPresent technical information to a non-technical audience in clear, complete, concise and non-ambiguous termsDevelop functional/performance requirements and documentation for CBTC and platform screen door systems based on client needs and requirementsReview and progress migration planning and cut-over Review and refine CBTC system implementation schedulesPrepare plans and procedures for the transition of the client's operations, maintenance and control center functions from the existing train control system to CBTCLead/chair client discussions by professionally and accurately communicating system informationDevelop specifications, interface specifications and test requirement documentsLead the development of contract documentation for the CBTC system procurement and railcar conversionAssess plans and technical documentation to support a safe, reliable, maintainable, high quality, and sustainable train control systemProvide technical direction and guidance to the engineering teams including setting priorities and schedulesReview technical designs and submittals to assess compliance with specifications and standardsIdentify and assess technical risks and propose mitigationsMaintain high personal productivity while working interactively with other team members and client groupsManagement ResponsibilitiesLead the project team by defining work, coaching, monitoring their progress and giving general direction and guidanceProvide work plan estimates and descriptions based on knowledge of the work and project requirementsWhat Required Skills You'll Bring:

$121,900.
