Would you like to work with others who want to help their community? We will provide all trainings for free and pay you to complete them so that you can become a certified Peer Recovery Specialist! Voices of Hope provides fully paid for Dental and Vision Insurance, Short Term Disability, a plentiful Paid Time Off Package, as well as a $300 monthly stipend for any medical expenses.
We also provide an on-staff certified Trauma Therapist available to all of our employees! Voices of Hope is a non-profit organization providing peer support to the communities in Cecil and Harford County.
Our mission is to advocate for behavioral health disorder prevention, intervention, treatment and recovery resources, eliminate the stigma of addiction through outreach events and education, and support ALL pathways of recovery.
We are looking for people who are allies of recovery or those with at least one year of continuous recovery to join our team at Voices of Hope in Elkton, MD and Aberdeen, MD.
We will provide the training and support for you to become a Maryland Certified Peer Recovery Specialist, using your experience, strength and hope to help others struggling with addiction in our community.
Multiple shifts are available in various settings:
Outreach, Recovery Community Center and Harm Reduction.
Full time and part time positions available with flexibility.
Pay Range is $18.
00 - $24/hour depending on experience and shift.
Shift differential pay available on second and third shift.
Summary:
The Peer Recovery Specialist will provide recovery support and harm reduction services to individuals in need accessing a wide variety of services at Voices of Hope.
The successful candidate will have an active personal recovery plan and create existing relationships in the local recovery community and with individuals with diverse recovery pathways.
The peer will represent Voices in the local community, working with our staff at local events and fundraisers.
QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS:

Valid Driver's License 2.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
3.
Acquire the Maryland Certified Peer Recovery Specialist credential within 6 months of employment, if not already certified.
4.
Ability to prioritize tasks and responsibilities.
5.
Demonstrates professional communication internally and externally through email, via phone, and in person.
6.
Ability to maintain a work calendar and schedule meetings.
7.
Must have familiarity with Google suite:
Gmail, drive, docs, sheets 8.
Strong attention to detail.
9.
Responsive and accountable.
10.
Demonstrates a trauma-informed care approach and engagement.
11.
Ability to take ownership of duties and roles.
12.
Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
