Summary:
Performs manual labor associated with performing grounds maintenance and landscaping operations for a business and other properties according to contract specification.
This position is seasonal.
The work will start on 1 April and go through Nov/Dec of each year.
Essential Functions:
Complies with all Agency policies and procedures and follows contract specificationsMaintains areas that encompass building and facilities and including turf areas, ornamental shrubs, ground cover and trees.
Maintains designated grounds at both APG and Edgewood locationsSupports recreation and special events as requiredIdentifies equipment and supplies needed for each job and transport themFollows all rules and regulations for driving on base and maintains valid driver's licenseMows, weeds, trims, and edges lawn using walk behind, stand-on or ride-on movers and gasoline powered trimmers and edges around buildings, sidewalks, trees, landscape areas and other areas as directedPrunes trees and shrubsRemoves tree limbs and stumpsEstablishes new landscape areasInstalls new trees, shrubs and annual/seasonal flower beds as directedPlants and waters grass, trees, flowers, shrubs and installs sodMulches around trees, flower beds, shrubs, lawns, and wallsApplies fertilizer and lime only as directedControls erosion by grading areas, constructs drainage ditches, and places protective landscape materialsRemoves leaves, trash, and debris and repair storm damageCleans and clears ditchesRemoves leaves and yard waste and disposes of same as directedOpens/closes and maintains Water Features and Pond areasSets up and maintains Courtyard areasCleans up and maintains designated smoking areasPower washes sidewalks, building canopies, entrances and courtyardsUses and cares for equipment properlyComplies with uniform dress code and personal hygiene standardsPasses and complies with all facility and security requirements and proceduresWears ID badge(s) at all times while performing work under this ContractSecondary Functions:

Education:
High School diploma or equivalent preferredLandscaping training desired
Experience:
