Summary:
The mission is to provide support services to the U.
S.
Army Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM) Software Engineering Center (SEC).
The services will include related activities in support of all complete lifecycle management, software maintenance, software engineering, software sustainment, software replication and distribution, software control, Information Technology (IT) technical support services, Post Deployment Software Support (PDSS), Post Production Software Support (PPSS), and Cybersecurity.
These services advance SEC's mission of ensuring operational readiness by developing, providing, integrating, and maintaining Army Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR), Logistics, and Business Software.
Job FunctionManaging the servers, which typically involves installing and upgrading the servers, as well as solving any problems with the systems.
Providing essential software support for laptops, desktop personal computers, and printers, including configuring the hardware devices, testing new software, and designing the network's structure.
Must be capable of monitoring the system configuration, including the server event log.
Testing the operating system software, the networking software, and the computer hardware.
Monitoring and developing the procedures for backups of the servers.
RequirementsJob Requirements
Experience:
Five (5) years within the last seven (7) years minimum experience with knowledge of TCP/IP, information security/authorization profiles, or system administration of Unix or Windows networks/systems.
Experience executing upgrades.
Experience upgrading from Solaris 10 to Solaris 11.
Experience upgrading from Oracle 12c to Oracle 19c.
Educational Requirements:
A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or another Engineering or Technical discipline is required.
Four (4) Additional years of relevant experience with appropriate certifications may be substituted for the degree.
Clearance:
An active secret security clearance is required at the time of hire.
Work Environment:
This role will be full-time on-site in Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.
Must live within 50 miles of work location.
