Position Summary The vocational support coach will provide community- based assistance to our Pre-employment and adult services vocational rehabilitation team.
Job Description.
The vocational coach?s primary role shall include preparation, education, training, job development and coaching supports as authorized by the Division of Rehabilitation.
In a manner consistent with supporting The Arc NCR mission statement, the Vocational coach shall do the following:
Position Responsibilities to include but not limited to:
Provide Job Preparation services to include the development of a resume, cover letter, and job development plan.
Teach and train participants how to effectively interview:
to include mock interviews, role play, research companies, as well as utilize visual aids.
Utilize information compiled in the job development plan to support people in job developing efforts through completing job applications, engaging in the interview process, coordinating working interviews and networking with local employers.
Conduct on site Job Coaching:
Supporting people in learning the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job duties as outlined by the employer.
Provide individualized job support to align with the learning style of the person supported.
Implement multisensory teaching techniques which utilize a ?see it, hear it, do it? approach.
Advocate on behalf of the person supported to ensure appropriate accommodations and modifications are in place for success on the job.
Monitor the progress of person supported for a 90-day period to support in successful case closure.
Provide accurate and timely documentation reflecting all services provided on DORS required forms.
Ability to work autonomously in a community-based environment with support and direction from program supervisor.
Ensure all documentation is completed timely for monthly invoice submission.
Consistently provide the specified billable hours of service as directed by program supervisor.
Other duties as assigned to meet program needs.

Ability to work with high school students as well as adults Ability to adapt style to serve the varying needs of the people supported within the program Ability to represent the mission, vision, and values of the Arc Northern Chesapeake in a professional manner while working with individuals, families and various agencies and employers.
Education, Training and
Experience:
High School diploma or GED equivalent is required, Associates degree in human services or related field preferred One to Three (1-3) years of experience working with people with differing abilities preferred Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
) Other Requirements Access to reliable transportation during the entire shift.
Active valid driver?s license and driving record that has no more than two (2) points.
Maintenance of all required trainings under DORS guidelines and The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region policies and procedures Flexibility of scheduling to meet agency and program needs Physical Demands and Work Environment:
The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
Physical Demands The physical demands of this position are contingent on the job in which the person is learning.
As a vocational coach, you may need to model task expectation to ensure understanding or physically support to ensure safety during the training process.
Required physical expectations:
Must be able to lift 50-70 pounds Ability to stand for up to 8 hours when needed.
Ability to walk distance as needed Ability to sit as needed Ability to repetitively stoop, crouch or kneel to model and teach tasks.
Ability to climb as needed Ability to use hands to carry and handle tools/equipment Ability to repetitive use hands to type and document.
Ability to reach overhead with arms and hands Ability to speak to provide instruction, prompting and feedback Ability to hear (with or without device) Ability to see (with or without corrective lens).

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
