A Quality Technician is needed for a contract-to-hire opportunity with Yoh's client located in Aberdeen, MD.
The Big Picture:
The candidate will work in the area of quality control for the home comfort division and its primary products of Room Air Conditioners, Dehumidifier, Mini Splits and PTSC's. Responsible for working side by side with the Product Quality & Safety Engineer to assist with tasks and activities related to the product category.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Audit incoming product, performing visual and functional inspections using electrical test equipment
- Investigate, Track and Manage product deemed not to meet quality standards
- Perform assorted duties involving special requests made by the Home Comfort division
- Be prepared to learn the technical aspects of the product line and expand into areas of quality management and technical support
What You Need to Bring to the Table:
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or Business Administration preferred
- Flexibility in travel
- Two plus years working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
- Must be able to use hand and power tools safely
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Experience with fork trucks a plus but completion of the company Fork Truck Training Class required
- Strong written and oral cross-functional communication skills
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Project, Powerpoint & Excel
- Ability to learn additional systems for product/project management
- Ability to work both autonomously & in group settings; a self starter
- Proven analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to understand technical (product & data systems)
- Candidate must be reliable, punctual, detailed and be able to follow directions
- Experience with fork trucks a plus but completion of the company Fork Truck Training Class required
- Strong written and oral cross-functional communication skills
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Project, Powerpoint & Excel
- Ability to learn additional systems for product/project management
- Ability to work both autonomously & in group settings; a self starter
